Alim and Badrul enter in to a partnership and Alim invests Tk 10,000 in the partnership. At the end of 4 months he withdraws Tk 2000. At the end of another 5 month, he withdraws another Tk 3000. If Badrul receives Tk 9600 as his share of the total profit of Tk 19,100 for the year, how much did Badrul invest in the company?
Total profit is 19100. Badrul gets 9600, so Alim would get (19100 - 9600) = 9500 Tk
They split their profits in the ratio of investments.
Therefore, the ratio of investments of A:B = 9500:9600 = 95:96 Alim invested Tk 10000 Initially for a period of 4 months. Then he withdraw Tk. 2000. Hence his investment has reduced Tk 8000(for next 5 months). Then he withdraw another Tk. 3000. Hence his investment will stand reduced to tk. 5000 during the last three months.
So the amount of money that he had invested in the company on a money - month basis will be = 4×10000 + 5×8000 + 3×5000 = 40000 + 40000 + 15000 = 95000
If Alim had Tk 95000 Invested, Badrul would have invested Tk 96000 as the ratio is 95:96
If Badrul invested 96000 Tk in money - month basis, he has essentially invested = 8000Tk
